Web Application Developer

Job Description

You will assist in the development, design, and testing of web and mobile based applications, systems, and database driven websites. You will help analyze business processes in order to define functional requirements and technical specifications. You will work closely with our Lead Developer, as well as Business, Product and Creative. Must be detail-oriented, organized and self-motivated. Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and work well with other team members is critical. Must be committed to consistently learning and adapting to changing needs while staying current on existing technologies and standards.

  • 2+ years of experience developing and deploying websites and applications using standards-compliant code
  • HTML5, CSS3, Web Standards and Best Practices
  • Experience with cross-platform, multi-browser issues
  • JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, XML
  • Ruby on Rails, PHP, MySQL, Apache
  • Familiar with Responsive Design
  • Knowledge of Unix Environment is a plus

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Strategic Capabilities:

  • Daily affiliate management including ongoing development and deployment of: fresh marketing creative, affiliate communications such as eNewsletters and blog posts, offers, affiliate payments, and dispute resolution
  • Monitor affiliate activity, analyze performance, identify areas of improvement, and recommend ways to increase affiliate-generated revenues.
  • Recruit new affiliates, joint venture partners, and strategic partners
  • Oversee the development and distribution of marketing tools and sales creative to affiliates
  • Establish channels of communication to ensure all affiliates and joint venture partners have access to marketing tools, and to develop custom marketing material as required
  • Work closely with CEO to build and expand the affiliate program
  • Initiate new campaign ideas, incentives, and bonus offers
  • Develop annual affiliate campaign calendar and rollout plans

Client Service:

  • Work with the sales team to ensure all clients goals and objectives are being met 
  • Actively participate and contribute to new business efforts
  • Present media plans


  • Provide direction and supervision on all media campaigns and directly report to the Chief Executive Officer on the high-level status of all campaigns
  • Develop processes and specific internal control documents that increase pro-activity and efficiency
  • Serve as a resource both internally and externally for new trends and industry news
  • Increase the performance of campaigns through data analysis and optimization
  • Produce monthly projections
  • Assist with invoicing and work with the finance department

Industry and Vendor Relationships:

  • Represent Provide Media at industry events and in trade publications and sites
  • Develop, and build, strong relationships with vendors

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 year hands-on experience in affiliate program management
  • Documented track record of successful affiliate recruitment, including program performance data
  • Must possess strong knowledge of the affiliate marketing industry, including its customs, culture, and controversies
  • Must be able to document a strong understanding of both legal/ethical and illegitimate/unethical affiliate marketing practices, including thorough knowledge of how spyware, adware, and parasiteware can be detected and prevented
  • Must be fluent and experienced in the process of prospecting, contacting, and recruiting strong joint venture partners
  • Prior experience in web-based informational/educational product development, or in development and testing of online sales creative, is preferred
  • Must be fluent and skilled in the internet marketing sales process, including email marketing, search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising, and blog/forum marketing
  • Must be ready to be act as an ambassador for Provide Conversions, comfortable with public speaking, and open to “being put on the spot” at trade shows and conferences
